On the morning of May 28th, our college held a grand opening ceremony. Well-known domestic education experts, leaders of relevant departments of the provinces and cities, leaders of brother colleges, and college faculty representatives attended the opening ceremony. In the warm applause and witnessed by representatives of all walks of life and college faculty, the leading guests slowly opened the red cloth on the plaque to unveil the name of Zhuhai College of Science and Technology.

       The opening ceremony has attracted great attention from domestic brother colleges, domestic (overseas) cooperative colleges and all walks of life. The University of Auckland, Macquarie University, Shantou University, City University of Macau, The Open University of Hong Kong, Zhejiang University City College and other universities have issued Congratulations to our college.

Opening Ceremony of Zhuhai College of Science and Technology

       Zhuhai College of Science and Technology (formerly Zhuhai College of Jilin University) was established with the approval of the Ministry of Education on May 18th, 2004, and was changed to a non-profit and pure public welfare university on May 16th, 2016. Our college was approved to be converted to an independent college on February 2nd, 2021 and renamed Zhuhai College of Science and Technology.

       During the 17 years since the establishment, Zhuhai College of Science and Technology has become the “Vanguard” of independent colleges: approved for master's degree award project construction unit, Guangdong Province doctoral workstation, national-level first-class undergraduate professional construction site, national-level first-class curriculum, national-level small and medium-sized enterprises public service demonstration platform; subjects covering 9 categories, 63 undergraduate majors, high-level talents are introduced to be the principals of the subjects; the number of students exceeds 30,000, and the enrollment scores ranked almost the top comparing with the same level of colleges in Guangdong all the year round. Before the Conversion, our college had ranked first in the rankings of independent colleges in China for 7 consecutive years. After the Conversion, our college participated in the Best Chinese Universities Ranking issued by Shanghai Ranking Consultancy for the first time, and ranked second among private colleges in China.
