On May 10th, Prof. Maurizio Marchese, Vice Rector of the University of Trento (Italy); Prof. Fausto Giunchiglia, Member of the European Academy of Sciences; Prof. Joao L. Monteiro, Former Dean of School of Engineering of the University of Minho (Portugal), and Adriano Tavares, the Associate Professor from the School of Engineering of the University of Minho, visited our college. The purpose of this visit is to continue to promote the new round of cooperation between ZCST and Italian as well as Portuguese universities in the fields of joint scientific research, exchange of teachers and students, doctoral students training and so on.

On the morning of May 10th, Liu Ming, President of ZCST met with the guests. Cheng Chunmei, Vice President of ZCST; Liang Yanchun, Dean of the School of Computer Science; Dong Yan, Director of International Exchange and Cooperation Department; Li Dalin, Deputy Dean of the School of Computer Science; Li Zi, Deputy Director of International Exchange and Cooperation Department and other relevant staff attended the meeting. At the beginning of the meeting, Liu Ming warmly welcomed the delegations from the two universities, introduced the development of ZCST, and reviewed the history of cooperation with the two universities and the main achievements. Liu Ming pointed out that scientific and technological innovation is an important engine for the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. He hoped that ZCST, and the University of Trento as well as the University of Minho could make this development opportunity, make full use of the good cooperation foundation in the field of computer science, further deepen inter-university exchanges and cooperation, expand the breadth of cooperation, and finally achieve mutual benefit and win-win results. Maurizio Marchese expressed his gratitude to our college for the warm reception and his hope to continue to strengthen the cooperation with our college in the field of computer science, and at the same time, jointly explore other levels of exchange and cooperation in other fields. Joao L. Monteiro said that the University of Minho and ZCST have a long-term and stable cooperative relationship. He hoped to deepen the exchange of teachers and students, cooperation of scientific research between the two universities in the new round of cooperation, and constantly explore more opportunities for collaborative development. At the meeting, all parties also expressed the hope that they could take this visit as an opportunity to explore the establishment of a tripartite cooperation mechanism on the premise of resource sharing and complementary advantages.

On the afternoon of May 10th, our college held a meeting on cooperation projects with representatives from the University of Trento and the University of Minho. Cheng Chunmei, Vice President; Liang Yanchun, Dean of the School of Computer Science; Dong Yan, Director of International Exchange and Cooperation Department; Zhang Zhengyan, Deputy Director of Human Resource Department; Li Zi, Deputy Director of International Exchange and Cooperation Department; Xu Jian and Zhang Li, respectively from Practical Teaching Section and Teachers Development Center of Academic Affairs Department, attended the meeting. At the beginning of the meeting, Cheng Chunmei briefly introduced the project between ZCST and the University of Trento as well as the University of Minho, and expressed the hope that all participants could make full use of this meeting to strengthen exchanges and promote practical cooperation. At the meeting, the representatives of the School of Computer Science, the Human Resource Department, the Academic Affairs Department, the International Exchange and Cooperation Department and the other two universities had a detailed discussion on the curriculum, mutual recognition of credits, sending students abroad, teacher training and other details of the project cooperation, and finally reached a consensus in multiple fields.

On May 12th, the visiting delegation, accompanied by Liang Yanchun, Dean of the School of Computer Science; Zhao Chengguo, Director of Scientific Research Department; Li Dalin, Deputy Dean of the School of Computer Science, and Li Zi, Deputy Director of International Exchange and Cooperation Department, visited Zhuhai Gotech Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. Miao Kelang, Chairman of Zhuhai Gotech Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., warmly welcomed the delegation, and then the two sides had a discussion on industry-university-research cooperation.

ZCST established cooperation with the University of Minho in 2016 and the University of Trento in 2018. Through several mutual visits, ZCST has formed a close, stable and practical cooperative relationship with the two universities, and achieved remarkable cooperation results in scientific research cooperation, doctoral students training and other fields. The visit of the delegations from the University of Trento and the University of Minho not only further deepened the partnership, but also laid a good start for a new round of cooperation with our college. ZCST will continue to cooperate with the two universities to effectively promote the cooperation in scientific research, exchange of teachers and students, doctoral students training and other fields, so as to actively contribute to the high-quality development of ZCST.
