Delegates from the University of Auckland, New Zealand, visited ZCST

On April 11, Nuala Gregory and Lawrence Zhang, respectively Dean and associate Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Education at the University of Auckland, New Zealand, visited our college. Cheng Chunmei, vice president of ZCST met with the delegates, and Zhang Qingli, Dean of the School of Literature, Dong Yan, Director of International Exchange and Cooperation Department, Zhang Yan, Deputy Dean of the School of Foreign Languages, Li Zi, Deputy Director of International Exchange and Cooperation Department, Li Li, Associate professor of School of Foreign Languages, in charge of 2+2 English Major, and Li Mian, Chief of Exchange Section, International Exchange and Cooperation Department, participated in the reception.

During the meeting, Cheng Chunmei extended a warm welcome to the delegates from the University of Auckland. She emphasized the long-standing friendship between the two universities, particularly highlighting the successful outcomes of the English “2+2” Joint Program. Cheng Chunmei hopes that both sides can continue to actively optimize the cooperation mechanism, and jointly cultivate more high-quality international talents. Subsequently, Dong Yan provided an overview of ZCST’s educational philosophy and international engagement initiatives. Nuala Gregory expressed gratitude for ZCST’s hospitality and highly commended ZCST’s achievements in educational development, talent cultivation, and campus infrastructure. She noted that the University of Auckland prioritizes the advancement of humanities and social sciences disciplines and aims not only to deepen the existing joint programs but also to expand collaborative disciplines and explore diversified partnership models. Zhang Qingli and Zhang Yan then respectively introduced the academic profiles of the School of Literature and the School of Foreign Languages. The attendees unanimously agreed to strengthen cooperation and conducted in-depth discussions on potential expansion areas and partnership frameworks.

During their visit, Nuala Gregory and Lawrence Zhang toured key facilities at ZCST, including the Library, ZCSTs History Museum, and Academic Exchange Center.
